During the 2008-2009 heating season we experienced a major rise in the sale of pellet stoves and demand for wood pellets. At the same time, economic conditions affecting housing and construction have resulted in a shortage of saw dust used to make wood pellets. Now, with the Federal Stimulus Package offering a 30% tax rebate on most pellet stove purchases, we expect a further rise in the demand for pellets.
One result of this is that manufacturers will not offer us Early Buy incentives. Another result is that New England Wood Pellets, our premium pellet manufacturer, can only supply about 25% of our pellet needs. Currently we have New England Wood Pellets, but they won’t last long.
Our recommendation: BUY NOW. There is no limit to how much you can purchase, but first come, first serve. As in the past, we will provide free storage. You can pick up your pellets as needed, or have them delivered. We will purchase other brands of pellets at market price as required through the season.
